Twitter has recently been gaining prominence in the Google search listings and has this week modified its title tags to improve further the search performance of members tweets and profiles.

Wikipedia has a tremendous reputation for dominating the search listings due to the outstanding architecture and wealth of user generated content.  Twitter obviously has plenty of user generated content, and now seems to be working on the search friendly architecture.

adi,
I’m not sure where your coming from with the “Is Twitter becoming the new Wikipedia?”.
Do you mean is Twitter overtaking Wikipedia in the Google listings? Probably yes, but Twitter’s content may well be rich in that it is condensed into 140 character bites, but they don’t compare as reference sources. Twiiter is more of a link farm when compared to Wikipedia.

Hi John, yes, that’s the kind of thing I was pondering. Wikipedia dominates the serps at the moment, it’d be interesting if Twitter got into a similar position.
