I'm sure the algorithms will get better, and they certainly need to if they're going to be used to meaningfully rate and rank our work performance.

Google's authorship markup is already making social scoring a search engine signal.

These scoring mechanisms may be imperfect and something of a joke at the moment but they are the shape of the future, I'm absolutely certain of that.
